 Local organization and companies that achieved clean water and sanitation

 Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA)

 

The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture is in charge of producing water from groundwater wells, with the exception of places within its jurisdiction (NWC). It also manages water delivery in all regions other than those managed by the National Water Company and a few others. The Ministry is in charge of more than just the areas managed by the National Water Company. It is also in charge of collecting and treating wastewater and billing customers (إدارة المياه في السعودية 2022).

Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC)

The Saudi Water Partnerships Company was established in 2003 and is fully owned by the Ministry of Finance. It is tasked with ensuring adequate water production capacity, promoting the growth of local content, and encouraging private sector involvement. The company's main goal is to buy water and electricity from developers working on private projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then sell the water on to the Saline Water Conversion Corporation. Tenders for desalination facilities, water purification plants, sewage treatment plants, water tanks, and water transmission networks are also handled by this department (إدارة المياه في السعودية 2022).
